Welcome! We are the online auction partner that seamlessly connects companies with the trade of used industrial goods. What is redundant for one company becomes a new beginning for another, transferring value from one business to another.
We’d love to inform you about purchasing industrial machines and materials. From tractors to boats, cars to trucks, entire production lines to store interiors, and much more.
Sellers or consignors register with us to sell items (lots). We work with them to describe the items accurately and provide clear photos showing the product's condition. This way, you know what to expect from the lots you bid on.
You can place bids conveniently through our website or the new mobile app for Android and iOS. You’ll always have a clear understanding of the costs associated with placing your bid.
Buying a lot via Troostwijk Auctions consists of three steps, which we’ll explain below:
1. Bidding: To participate in our auctions, you’ll need to create a Troostwijk account. Want to know more first? Instructions can be found here.
After creating your account, you can quickly and easily start bidding. A few rules apply that we’d like to point out:
-
Minimum bid increments: You’ll see the next minimum bid required to place. Of course, you can always adjust this to a higher amount if desired.
-
Auto-bid: Don’t want to bid manually each time? Set a maximum amount to maintain control over your bids.
- Place an auto-bid and specify the maximum amount you’re willing to pay for the lot.
- If you’re outbid, we’ll automatically increase your bid until you either have the highest bid or reach your limit.
- If your limit is reached and someone else places a higher bid, we’ll notify you so you can decide whether to bid again.
- Want to cancel the auto-bid? Simply place a new static (one-time) bid for the next required amount.
-
2-Minute Rule: To prevent being outbid at the last moment before the auction closes, we apply a 2-minute rule. The closing time of a lot is extended by 2 minutes whenever a new bid is placed.
-
Bids are binding: All bids placed online are final and binding. They cannot be canceled, as there’s no reflection period (right of withdrawal) for public auctions (and all Troostwijk Auctions are public). Withdrawing bids would compromise the integrity of the auction process. Please bid responsibly and within your budget.
-
For bids over €4,000: A deposit is required to participate. This deposit is refunded after 60 days or upon request. Read more about deposits here.
2. Paying: Once you’ve won a lot, it will appear in your account under ‘My Purchases.’ You’ll receive a notification when your lot is ready for payment. After payment, the invoice will also appear under ‘My Purchases.’
Learn more about the payment process here.
3. Pickup and Delivery: Troostwijk organizes two types of auctions: Pickup Auctions and Delivery Auctions.
-
Pickup Auctions: We organize one or more pickup days at a specific location where you can collect your won lots. These days are usually fixed and don’t require an appointment. Information about these days can be found on your invoice or in the emails we send you.
- Can’t transport yourself? You can hire a transporter (here are transport options).
- Unable to attend? Arrange alternative transport through a friend, family member, or hired transporter.
- Delivery Auctions: Products are delivered to your (business) address, often within a limited delivery area (e.g., only within the Netherlands, excluding the Wadden Islands, and Belgium). Always carefully check the delivery area information in the lot description and auction information before bidding.
Customer Service: Have questions or need help during or after bidding? Here’s how to contact our customer service.
Safety and Privacy: Do you have questions about your privacy and personal data usage? Read more about how Troostwijk Auctions handles your data.
We wish you an enjoyable bidding experience—and success in winning! We hope to see you often at Troostwijk Auctions.
