Are you new to Troostwijk Auctions?

Welcome! We are the online auction partner that seamlessly connects businesses with the trade in used industrial goods. What is surplus for one company can be a new beginning for another. This way, value is transferred from one business to another.

We are happy to inform you about buying industrial machines and materials. From tractors to boats, from cars to trucks, from complete production lines to store interiors and much more.

Sellers or consignors register with us to sell items (lots). We work together with them to describe these accurately and provide clear photos that show the condition of the product. This way, you know what to expect from the lots you bid on.

You can place bids at your convenience via our website or the mobile app for both Android and iOS. You will always have a clear overview of the costs you can expect when placing your bid.

Buying a lot via Troostwijk Auctions consists of 3 steps, which we explain below:

1. Bidding

To participate in our auctions, first create a Troostwijk account. Prefer to learn more first? Instructions can be found here.

Once your account has been created, you can easily and quickly start bidding. There are a few rules we would like to point out:

  • Bidding works with minimum increments. You immediately see the next minimum bid you can place. Of course, you can always adjust this to a higher amount if you wish.
  • Auto-bid: Don’t want to place bids manually each time? You can set a maximum amount to stay in control of your bids.
    • Place an auto-bid and enter the maximum amount you are willing to bid on the lot in our system.
    • If someone outbids you, we automatically increase your bid until you are the highest bidder or your limit is reached.
    • If your limit has been reached and someone places a higher bid, we will notify you so you can decide whether to continue bidding.
  • If you change your mind and no longer want to use auto-bid, you can place a new static (one-time) bid for the next required minimum bid amount.
  • 2-minute rule: To prevent last-second bidding before the auction closes, our auctions apply a 2-minute rule. If a bid is placed during the last 2 minutes, the closing time of the lot will be extended by 2 minutes.
  • Bids are binding: Every online bid you place is final and binding. It cannot be cancelled, as there is no cooling-off period (right of withdrawal) for public auctions (and all auctions at Troostwijk Auctions are public). Cancelling bids would also compromise the integrity of the auction process. Therefore, bid responsibly and within your budget.

Public auction: Earlier in this article you read that all auctions at Troostwijk Auctions are public. A public auction means that you can inspect the lots physically and/or online and attend the closing of the auction in person by appointment. Read more about public auctions here: Public auction | Troostwijk Auctions

Please note that the right of withdrawal does not apply to public auctions. Lots are described as accurately as possible, but neither the seller nor Troostwijk Auctions provide guarantees. Our auctions take place under notarial supervision.

2. Payment

If you win a lot, it will appear in your account under “purchases”. You will then receive a notification that your lot can be paid. After payment, the invoice will also be available in your account under “my purchases”.

3. Collection and Delivery

Troostwijk organizes two types of auctions: Collection auctions and Delivery auctions.

  • In collection auctions, we organize one or more collection days at a specific location where you can pick up your won lot(s). These days are fixed and usually not by appointment. Information can be found on your invoice or in messages we send by email.
    • Unable or unwilling to transport the items yourself? You can arrange a carrier (here you will find various transport options).
    • Lots can be collected upon presentation of the invoice. If you are unable to attend, you are expected to arrange alternative transport through a friend/family member or by hiring a carrier.
  • In delivery auctions, the products are delivered to your (business) address, often within a limited delivery area.
    • Therefore, always check the delivery area carefully in the lot description and auction information before placing a bid.

Customer service: Do you have questions during or after bidding or do you need assistance? Read here how you can best contact our customer service.

We wish you lots of success and enjoyment with bidding. And of course winning! We hope to see you again soon at Troostwijk Auctions.
