Welcome! We are the online auction partner that seamlessly connects businesses with the trade of used industrial goods. What is redundant for one is a new beginning for another. This way, value is transferred from one company to another.
We are happy to inform you about buying industrial machines and materials. From tractors to boats, from cars to trucks, from entire production lines to store interiors, and much more.
Sellers or consignors register with us to sell items (lots). We work with them to describe these accurately and provide clear photos showing the condition of the product well. This way, you know what to expect from the lots you bid on.
You can comfortably place bids via our website or the mobile app for both Android and iOS. You always have clear insight into the costs you can expect when placing your bid.
Buying a lot through Troostwijk Auctions consists of 3 steps, which we explain below:
1. Bidding
To participate in our auctions, you first create a Troostwijk account. Prefer to learn more first? Instructions can be found here.
Once your account is created, you can easily and quickly place bids. There are some rules we want to point out:
- Bidding proceeds in minimum increments, you immediately see the next minimum bid you can place. Of course, you can always adjust this to a different higher amount if you want.
-
Auto-bid: Don’t want to bid manually each time? You can set a maximum amount to maintain control over your bids.
- Place an auto-bid and enter in our system the maximum amount you are willing to bid on the lot.
- When you are outbid, we automatically increase your bid until you have the highest bid or reach your limit.
- If you reach your limit and someone else has just placed a higher bid, we notify you so you can still decide to continue bidding.
- If you change your mind and no longer want an auto-bid, you place a new static (one-time) bid for the next minimum required bid amount.
- 2-minute rule: To prevent last-minute outbidding just before the auction closes, our auctions have a 2-minute rule. If a bid is placed in the last 2 minutes, the closing time of a lot is extended by 2 minutes.
- Bids are binding: Every online bid you place is final and binding. Cancellation is not possible, as all auctions at Troostwijk Auctions are public. Retracting bids would also compromise the integrity of the auction process. So bid responsibly and within your budget.
Public Auction: Earlier in this article, you read that all Troostwijk Auctions are public. A public auction means you can inspect the lots physically and/or online and personally attend the auction closing by appointment. You can read more about public auctions here: Public Auction | Troostwijk Auctions. Of course, our auctions take place under notarial supervision.
2. Payment
If you have won a lot, it appears in your account under ‘purchases’. You will then receive a message from us that your lot can be paid for. After payment, the invoice will also be placed in your account under ‘my purchases’.
- Read more here about how to pay, which payment methods you can use, and which conditions apply: How does the payment process work?
3. Pickup and Delivery
Troostwijk organizes two types of auctions: Pickup Auctions and Delivery Auctions.
- At pickup auctions, we organize one or more pickup days at a specific location where you can collect your won lot(s). These days are fixed and usually not by appointment. You will find information about this on your invoice or in messages we send you by email.
- Can’t or don’t want to transport yourself? Then you can hire a carrier (here you will find various transport options).
- Lots can be collected upon presentation of the invoice. If you are unable to attend, we expect you to arrange alternative transport by involving a friend/family member or hiring a carrier.
- At delivery auctions, the products are delivered to your (business) address, often within a limited delivery area.
- Therefore, always carefully review the delivery area information in the lot description and auction information before bidding.
Customer Service: Do you have questions or need our help during or after bidding? Read here how to best reach our customer service.
We wish you much enjoyment bidding. And winning, of course! We hope to see you back often at Troostwijk Auctions.
