To keep our auctions safe and prevent fraud, we ask private buyers to confirm a valid payment method when creating their profile on our platform. This step is for security purposes only and no charges will be made. It is necessary to complete this step before you can place bids in our auctions. This ensures a safer and fairer bidding process.
Payment methods for verification
When creating your account, payment verification is the final step before gaining access. Your account can be verified using the following payment methods:
- Debit card
- iDEAL
- Bancontact
- Credit card
When you verify through iDEAL or Bancontact, a small temporary charge (such as €0.01 or €0.02) may appear on your account. This is only an authorization step to confirm your payment method, and the amount will be automatically refunded after verification.
Please note: It’s not possible to pay for lots using a credit card. It is only possible to complete the payment verification with a credit card. Lots can, of course, be paid for with iDEAL, Bancontact or bank transfer.
After completing the payment verification, your account will be fully active and you can participate in the auctions on our platform.
Why isn’t payment verification working?
If you receive a message saying that your card was declined, you can take the following steps:
- Try the payment verification again
- Try the payment verification with another payment method
- Contact your bank about the verification and try again afterward
If you do not end up on the correct page during the iDEAL or Bancontact payment verification, you can take the following steps:
- Try the payment verification again using another browser
- Clear your cookies/cache and try again
