How can I arrange the ownership transfer of a vehicle?

Make sure to bring the following documents to the collection location:

  • Your paid Troostwijk-Auctions invoice (printed or digital)

  • A valid proof of identity

After we receive the payment, you can contact the selling party to request the vehicle's ownership transfer code. The contact details of the selling party are provided in the auction details.

Please note: if you engage a transporter, you need to arrange the ownership transfer in advance.

Would you like to transfer ownership of the vehicle on the collection day? In that case, you don't need to take any steps beforehand; on the collection day, you'll receive the vehicle's ownership transfer code.

During collection days with expected crowds, the seller might email the ownership transfer code in advance, requesting you to initiate the transfer process. This occurs only after the lot has been paid for.

Instructions for Ownership Transfer:
To transfer vehicle ownership, take the vehicle's ownership transfer code to a PostNL or RDW-recognized car dealership. A PostNL or RDW-recognized car dealership employee will then register the vehicle in the new owner's name and arrange an ownership transfer code. This process can be completed in just a few minutes! The license card and the second ownership transfer code will be sent to your residential address by the RDW. Additionally, you'll receive the deregistration certificate. Present this certificate when collecting your vehicle, after which you can take possession of the vehicle.

Costs of Vehicle Ownership Transfer:
The costs for transferring vehicle ownership and registration are borne by the buyer.

Engaging a Transporter for Vehicle Transport: If you engage a transporter, the ownership transfer must already be completed. As mentioned above, you can request the codes from the seller after paying the invoice. Subsequently, you can email us a copy of the deregistration certificate and provide the original to the transporter. Please note! To transfer ownership of a car or motorcycle, you must be at least 18 years old.
